A Euphoria Women's Market Spotlight: VVK Honey Vintage

Vicky Khamphoui

Before VVK Honey Vintage became a shop draped in pink racks, handmade keychains, and curated Y2K finds, thrifting was simply her regularly scheduled program.

Vicky Khamphoui was born in Maryland but spent most of her life in California, shopping at thrift stores with her grandmother because money was tight. Secondhand wasn’t a trend. It was a necessity. She officially moved back to Maryland at 17 and got her first job at a thrift store at 18. What started as routine quickly became immersion. She learned the rhythms of racks, the feel of quality fabric, and the way a piece could stand out without trying too hard.

Soon, her own closet overflowed.

Depop became the first outlet. She began selling online and creating style bundles tailored to individual customers. Then, just before COVID, she stepped into the Georgetown Flea Market. Since 2020, Georgetown has become a consistent home base. From there, pop-ups expanded, and VVK Honey Vintage slowly became a visual identity.

The aesthetic wasn’t immediate. Vicky initially gravitated toward true vintage from the 70s and 80s. Over time, her eye shifted toward the boldness of Y2K. Born in the 90s and shaped by the early 2000s, she describes that era as fearless — colorful, experimental, and unapologetic.

But VVK Honey isn’t just clothing. Handmade keychains dangle from her setup, inspired by childhood afternoons spent beading jewelry with a neighbor in California. CD stacks appear at her booth too, remnants of her mother’s collection and her own growing archive. Some are sold. Some are kept. All contribute to the atmosphere.

When sourcing, Vicky relies less on comparison and more on instinct. “Be your own muse,” she says. She scrolls Pinterest for color palettes, draws from her college color theory course, and searches for items that someone might not already own.

At markets, she greets every customer, answers measurement questions, and builds quiet friendships with loyal Georgetown regulars. She doesn’t force return tactics. She trusts energy.

On February 28, VVK Honey Vintage will join the Euphoria Women’s Market, a growing platform spotlighting women-owned brands. For Vicky, it’s another opportunity to connect, create, and keep building something that started as a hobby but feels increasingly like a calling.
